“Your experiences, the mistakes are your lessons learned, they are the materials necessary to build your road forward, to create a better version of yourself."

― SRM

Navigating a society where the norm is deemed heterogeneous is not easy. There are values we grow up with, and what we see ourselves as and what we were conditioned to believe may not align. The question is how to honor our true selves and still maintain the connections with those we love and care for if they are not supportive of who we are meant to be. Those are real struggles, and I want to support you in your journey of self-discovery, providing unconditional support and tools to navigate those tough conversations. For some, it's simply a matter of exploring the inner voice or feeling that tells you, I know I don't fit the norm, so where do I belong?

LGBQTIA+ Affirming Therapy

We live in a society where monogamy is the norm; two people fall in love, marry, and if that is their destiny, have children. Alternative lifestyles such as polyamory and ethical non-monogamy are often misunderstood, and navigating multiple relationships can be challenging. Common responses at any point in this journey include jealousy, confusion, and insecurities, all of which are normal in any relationship, whether it is a dyad or a plural one. I want to create a non-judgmental, safe space to discuss what this means for those already in a polyamory relationship or those wanting to explore if this is something you want. Together, we will figure out your pathway.

Polyamory-Friendly Therapy

Trauma can be something that happens, a single incident that shakes your equilibrium, your sense of balance and safety, such as a car accident where you are critically injured. Or a childhood trauma that shifted your worldview, generating fear, anxiety, and sadness that does not want to let go. We will explore that pain together in a safe, slow, controlled manner so you feel in charge of your journey toward healing.

Trauma Therapy

I believe that we bring many experiences that shape and create who we are as human beings. Some of those experiences are positive, and some are painful. It all shapes our sense of self and how we see and feel about ourselves. It is our unique and individualized experiences that shape us. In therapy, I aim to meet you where you are, understand what you're looking to change, and help you achieve what you want to be different. To achieve this, I must adopt an eclectic approach to treatment, where I listen to your story and draw from multiple therapeutic modalities, including compassion-
focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, attachment therapy, solution-focused therapy, and interpersonal therapy, to develop an individualized treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Eclectic Individual Therapy

I focus on helping couples identify what is breaking down their connection to each other and rebuilding that connection. When couples first meet, there is new relationship energy; some call it the honeymoon period. In time, that fades, and a deeper connection develops and grows. However, along that journey, the connection can become disrupted, whether by an external event, the loss of a child, or other unforeseen circumstances. These stressors put a strain on the relationship, and the connection can start to fracture. I hope to help the couple heal and rebuild their relationship so that it is stronger. I pull in components of trauma theory, attachment theory, and cognitive behavioral therapy to help guide the couple.

Couples Therapy

Family dynamics are complex, and as we age, those attachments can change,
sometimes becoming stronger or weaker. If you need help re-establishing a connection with a loved one or figuring out why the connection is not as strong, family therapy maybe a good option. In session, we will determine the hopes and goals for all family members, what type of connection we want to develop, and how we will achieve it. It will require all family members to be willing to be honest, vulnerable, and open to change so that everyone can move forward toward the desired outcome. My approach is to guide, educate and challenge so growth and learning can occur. And in the end,my hope is all the family member connections are stronger and more fulfilling!

Family Therapy

I believe every individual seeking treatment has the resiliency and inherent strength to navigate our world. My job as a therapist is to help them find that strength, the belief that they can change their lives to be what they want despite their current or past struggles, stressors, or trauma. I combine talk therapy with homework assignments to move the individual's healing process forward to reach their goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Your therapy session will be via telehealth. I use Zoom, a video- conferencing platform. It is secure and HIPAA-compliant. You will receive a link through a third-party service, Rula Health, which handles all my billing. They will verify your insurance, obtain authorization, handle any applicable co-pays or deductibles, and schedule your initial session with me.

  • I work with adolescents (12 years and up) and adults of all ages.

  • You will receive a call or text from me within 1-2 business days to schedule
a complimentary 15-minute consultation. After our conversation, if you would like me to be your therapist, I will gather additional information, such as insurance details. I will share this with Rula Health (the third-party managing all billings) so they can verify your insurance and will be in direct contact with you. Once the verification is done, they will schedule the initial intake appointment on the date and time we agreed upon in the consultation session.

  • At every initial session, it is important for me to gather a comprehensive
history from you so that I have a clear understanding of your needs, hopes, and concerns. With this information, I will be better equipped to formulate an individualized treatment approach that aligns with your desired outcomes.

  • Each session lasts 53–60 minutes. Each session lasts 53–60 minutes.

  • This depends on the concerns we are addressing together. My goal is to guide you through your healing process and provide you with the tools that work for you to sustain recovery and be independent of therapy. I do not believe therapy is forever; it is meant to be short-term, but I will not define what short-term means - perhaps it is 6 months, or it may be a year or more. We end treatment when you, as the client, decide that you feel back in control of your life and have the tools to move forward without the support of therapy.

  • Therapy is a very individualized process, and not every therapist is the
right fit for you. My advice is to trust your gut. If you do not feel comfortable after our first session, then let me know, and we can try to find a therapist who is a better match. I want you to heal; that is the most important thing to me. To heal, vulnerability is necessary, and that cannot occur unless you feel comfortable with your therapist.
